“I’ve been working with David as my personal trainer for slightly more than a year (since April 2013), have lost about 80 pounds so far, and I am in the best shape of my life (which may not be saying much).  Last year I finally decided that it was time to focus on my health.  I chose David because of his background and he knows what it is like to be heavy.

“I started training with David about a year and a half ago at the start of my second semester as a junior in high school. I weighed about 150 pounds which, for my six foot tall frame, was a bit skinny. I wanted to bulk up but I didn’t have the expertise as I had always participated in sports such as soccer and rowing, which favored agility and cardio endurance over upper-body mass. David worked with me three times a week to convert my body from being conditioned for purely lower body strength and agility, to being more balanced and bulked up. Right before I left for college this past September David had brought me to my best, I was a decently lean 186 pounds and I was setting new personal bests almost every week that summer. My deadlifts had gone from a number that I’d be ashamed to mention, to multiple reps of 315 pounds all after a circuit style round of three super-sets of combined exercises; and I was seeing likewise improvements in a lot of my main lifts such as squats and cleans, etc.. Most importantly, however, was that through the entire journey up to this point, David wanted to see me reach my goals as much as I did if not more so. He knew when I could do more, could tell when I wasn’t taking care of myself outside of the gym, and didn’t want to see my time with him go to waste for whatever reason.”
